NMCSD General Library

The NMCSD General Library has various language audios and books.  Pashto, Dari, Farsi, Arabic, Japanese, and Latin American Spanish programs are among those available in the Library for checkout now.

MWR Digital Library

The Navy and Department of Defense have resources for active duty sailors and Marines, accessed through MWR Digital Library.  Explore an array of products, including: Mango Languages.  Mango prepares learners for realistic conversations and strengthens everyday communication skills in over 70 world languages, including English. The Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center not only has field support modules for active duty military, but now provides independent learner material for non-DOD civilians. 

The Joint Language University is a language training portal serving the U.S. Government. Whether you want to acquire, maintain, enhance, or refresh your language skills, there you find the materials you need. Explore the site and see what they have to offer.

NMCSD General Library

Behind the front desk are a collection of audio CD and Playaway units for language learning, in addition to the books in the General Library. English, sign language and foreign language books are in the 400+ section of the nonfiction books.

The Internet has various free sites for language learning. For instance, BBC Languages has audio and video programs.
